General English

General English

Before international students begin academic study in New Zealand or look for a job, they are strongly advised to undertake 3 - 6 months of intensive English Language studies at a college or language school. Shortly after arrival in New Zealand, enrolling students are tested at the language school to ascertain their English language proficiency. Assessment is continuous throughout the General English course. Students are tested every week and receive individual progress reports and final reports.

Based on their test results students are placed in a General English language class:

  • Beginner and Elementary English
  • Pre-Intermediate English
  • Intermediate English
   Upper Intermediate English

  • Speaking, listening, reading and writing lessons
